Sunny Keita joins Lokomotiv
//26.08.2009 18:33 EXCLUSIVE
|
Today 23 year old midfielder of Kuban Sunny Keita has settled an agreement with Lokomotiv over his move on loan until the end of the season. The nigerian player will take number 18 and has already had his first training session with the team. After training the players answered some questions:
- I head about Lokomotiv a lot when I was still back in Nigeria, - says Keita. - After all it is a big club, which played in the Champions League and was well-known. So I think that this is a big step in my career. In Lokomotiv I have a friend who also plays for Nigeria - Peter Odemwingie, with whom I played last year together at the Olympic games. Of course, I talked with him about my move to Lokomotiv. He convinced me that this would be an excellent move for me and promised to help with my adaptation.
- The rights for you belong to Monaco. How did you join such a famous club and then move to Kuban? - Until last season I played for Sparta Rotterdam. Monaco offered me a contract straight after the Olympic Games in Beijing. When I joined the team in France, the Championship had already started and the head coach did not want to make any changes to the starting line-up. During half a year I played four or five games. Of course, this did not suite me. So when I received an offer in the winter from Kuban to go on loan - I accepted.
- Why did you choose the 18 number? - I have three favorite numbers - 18, 40 and 50. In Lokomotiv I chose number 18. Although there is no special meaning to these numbers, I just like them.

Diniyar Bilyaletdinov: "My move to Everton was made together with Lokomotiv"
//25.08.2009 15:16 EXCLUSIVE
|
Today, before leaving Hamburg, where Diniyar is undergoing his medicals for Everton, he answered some questions for the official Lokomotiv website:
- It was kind of hard yesterday, - says Diniyar. - We returned to Moscow at night from St.Petersburg. In the early morning I flew to Hamburg. As soon as I arrived I began my medicals, where a delegation of six people from Everton were present. The team administrator, doctor, technical director, club administrator, translator. They all met me very well. The medical test took around 2-2,5 hours. Most of my medical test results had been already sent by the Lokomotiv FC doctors earlier. - Did the administration of Everton wonder why you chose their club? - This is a type of question that is not needed in the current situation. If I am undergoing medical tests and sitting in front of them - this means I want to play for them. Everton were interested in me since the beggining of last year. Although then they wanted me on loan. Then I could not leave the team. Now my move to Everton was made together with Lokomotiv. - Five years - isn't that a long contract? - There can be many different terms in a contract. I was offered five years. I do not see any reason to discuss this question. - What did Yuriy Semin say? - With Yuriy Semin we sat down after the game against Zenit and had a good talk. He understood my situation. He wished me good luck and said, that I should come to say goodbye to the team. On Wednesday I will go to Bakovka to the players and staff. - Did you follow Everton during last season? - I have already seen their match this season against Arsenal. Eh, they lost to Andrei Arshavin (smiles). It alright, sometimes such games happen. Before this season, of course, I followed Everton, as I enjoy watching the English Premier League. I believe that Everton is a strong team, which takes part in a very strong Championship.

- When do you plan on joining your new team? - I need to make an English visa as soon as possible. If I manage to get one before the international games against Lichtenstein and Wales, then I will arrive earlier. If not, then I will join the team after the international games. Everton are willing to wait, but have expressed their wish over my arriving earlier at the club. - When will you have your first talk with head coach of Everton David Moyes? - I already had a talk with him over the phone. He phoned the Lokomotiv technical director and asked to pass the phone to me. He said that he is delighted that my transfer has been finally agreed upon. I thanked him and said that I am also happy. It was very pleasant to hear.

- Will your level of english allow you to reject the services of a translator? - On the phone it is harder to understand. In person, I don't think there will be many problems. Simple phrases, the basics I know already. Also my work with Hiddink has also given me much knowledge. I'm used to it. But in the future I will decide on this question. A translator or not? I'll think over it. We will see once we get there. - Have you decided your number at Everton yet? - I was asked whether I would want to keep my number that I had in Lokomotiv. I said no. I want number 63 to be history in Lokomotiv left behind by me. I prefer two-figure numbers, something that I am used to. Either way, a little later I will choose from the numbers that are free. As for my name on the shirts - I still havn't decided fully. Either my name, or surname. I won't be against writing Diniyar. There could be some problems pronouncing my name (laughs). - Have you decided where you will live in the near future? - At first I will live in a hotel, then I was told that I will be helped out in finding a place. I can choose between Manchester and Liverpool. As it turned out, the cities are about 40km from each other. Some Everton players live in Manchester, some in Liverpool. This isn't fundamental. Me personally, I want to be closer to the training camp. Where everything is cooked! - How did your relatives take your departure? With whom did you talk to about your decision to move? - My relative are in utter shock. On one hand they are happy for me, on the other - confused. This is all serious. I have talked to my brother and father about my move. We came to a conclusion that I should try. Yesterday I phoned my family and told them that everything went fine. Of course, at first my opinion was taken into consideration, then Lokomotiv's. I am glad that both our opinions were the same. - The Lokomotiv supporters were also rather confused about such a rapid decision and move. - I understand that everything happened really quickly. Dear fans, don't worry! Who knows, maybe someday I will be back. If they'll take me back (smiles). I from my side am very thankful for your support. Our club has been through many different situations in the past. We had our share of tough moments. I have always come on the field and played only for you and my team mates. You supporters are our main motivation. So I would like to say a big thank you!

Nikolay Naumov about Bilyaletdinov's move to Everton
//25.08.2009 11:54 EXCLUSIVE
|
The Lokomotiv president Nikolay Naumov commented on the move of Diniyar Bilyaletdinov to Everton:
- Everton took interest in the player since the beggining of 2008, which we immediately informed about Diniyar straight away. At that moment Lokomotiv had problems in the team and as a patriot of the club and a real captain, Diniyar rejected the move. He did not want to leave the club at such a moment. Now, a year and a half later, we did not have the right to ask Diniyar to stay and not discuss the terms with Everton. Moreover he himself expressed his wish to try himself out on a new level, to be more exact in the English Premier League. We, of course, let him go.

Aftermatch comments from Rinat Bilyaletdinov
//22.08.2009 19:46 EXCLUSIVE
|
After the game between the reserve teams of Zenit and Lokomotiv, the head coach of Loko Rinat Bilyaletdinov gave his comments on the game:
- Unfortuneatly, today we did not have enough mastership and composure to score all our chances. We will be studying these moments. As for the goals we conceded, we will also study our mistakes. I would have really liked to see Zenit should we have gone up first, but both times it was us who had to come back into the game. If we had scored first, we could have later scored on counter attacks and build up on our success. But all this is just thougths.
Today we involved a big group of football players from the 1992 squad. On the whole I am happy with them. But they have yet still to learn to adequately analize game situations - they either kept the ball for too long, or the opposite.
The reason Efimov came off in the first half was due to pain, which occured due to the astroturf. We did not want to risk the health of the football player.

Reserve team earn point in St.Petersburg
//22.08.2009 19:40 EXCLUSIVE
|
The Lokomotiv reserve team played a draw with Zenit. The game took place at the Small Petrovskiy Arena and had everything a spectator could want - beautiful goals, serious mistakes by the defenders, controversial decisions by the referee. The only thing the game didn't have was three points for our team. Although the game could have ended in a defeat. If one sums up the match, then you could say that Lokomotiv looked better up front, while Zenit was more organized in defence. The first great moment happened on the 22 minute, when Poloz took a shot on goal after a corner. The ball was saved by the goalkeeper. Soon after Chochiev set up a one on one situation for the 96 number of Lokomotiv, but the accuracy lacked by just a few centimetres. The attacks by Lokomotiv became more and more dangerous, but it was Zenit who scored first. The goal was scored from a set piece, which as it happened was given thanks to a more than disputable decision by the referee. The mistake was then cancelled out as the referee helped Lokomotiv score a goal to equalize the game. The rest of the first half was more or less calm, with a slight advantage of Lokomotiv. The second half was a demonstration of total domination of Lokomotiv. Everybody could have scored: Minchenkov, who was partnered by Nurov in attack, Poloz, who had already scored a goal, Sharifi, who moved forward into attack often. The team lost their head in attack and completely forgot about defence. Sagnatullin was left alone outside of the box and a masterful shot into the top corner sent Zenit ahead in the match once more 2:1. But this score did not last long. A couple of minutes later it was Nurov who gave a lesson in football skills. After receiving a pass from Minchenkov, Nurov took the ball onto his chest and from a first touch lobbed the ball over the Zenit goalkeeper. 2:2. The last minutes of the game were very nerve-racking. The game could have been won by any of the two teams. In one of the episodes the victory came at the loss of a red card. After a dangerous kick by Minchenkov, Zenit performed a fast counter attack. The ball reached Sagnatullin, who was brought down by Pankovets. Unfortuneatly the referee decided that this foul was a professional foul and gave a red card. This means that the player will now sit out for three games.
Zenit - Lokomotiv - 2:2 (1:1)
Zenit: Zabolotniy, Vasetskiy, Abdulfattakh, Mochalin, Grebenev (Cheminava, 84), Ignatovic (Sagnatullin, 66), Petrov, Bashkirov (Sushkin, 67), Komolov, Kanunnikov (Ornat, 64), Matyash (Kostin, 90).
Lokomotiv: Levenets, Sharifi, Burlak, Milanovic, Efimov, Poloz (Garakoev, 75), Kambolov, Mironov (Nurov, 57), Chochiev, Piliev (Voynov, 55), Minchenkov (Bykov, 88).
Goals: Mochalin, 23 (1:0). Poloz, 26 (1:1). Sagnatullin, 82 (2:1). Nurov, 87 (2:2).
Yellow cards: Ignatovic, 18 - Burlak, 47. Red card: Pankovets, 90+1.

I cannot say that I am in form at the moment, but my form is optimal. My form is good, the rest comes with games. The game against Zenit will not be easy, as any other game against them. After match press conference: Yuriy Semin
//16.08.2009 19:43 EXCLUSIVE
|
After the winning derby game over CSKA Moscow Yuriy Semin answered some questions at the after match press conference:
- We played the first half brilliantly. In my opinion we lost a lot of energy, as we constantly pushed the opponent back into his half. In the second half we fell out of the game for about 20 minutes. During this time we conceded a goal. Any conceded goal is always stress, but the players found the strength to create a couple of great goal oppertunities. Half way through the second half a group of players were tired, that is why I made two substitutions to the center of the field. CSKA brought on a really fast player on to the left wing who created many problems for us, but we quickly reacted by switching our wing players. After that we did not have many more problems. I think that the game was equal, but of good quality. I was amazed by the amount of spectators. I am very thankful to our supporters who came to help us today and I think that we did not let them down in any way. For us todays victory is important psychologicaly. We havn't beaten CSKA for a long time, and today we remembered the good days of Lokomotiv when such wins were normal. Lokomotiv deserved the win, as we showed excellent football. We did not plan on playing as a second number. Maybe this happened in the second half, we gave the ball away. In the first half I think we were number one. I told Asatiani, that according to the rules of Fair Play the game can only be stopped by the referee. In the episode when Dzagoev fell down, but got up a couple of seconds late, Malkhaz did not have the right to stop the game personaly.

Lokomotiv win derby in closing minutes
//16.08.2009 19:20 EXCLUSIVE
|
Today in Cherkizovo at the Lokomotiv stadium Lokomotiv welcomed CSKA Moscow for a Moscow derby. This is the third time the teams are meeting this year. The first two times - CSKA won 4:1 and 1:0. The head coach of Lokomotiv Yuriy Semin did not make any changes to the starting line-up, which won the game in Samara. The only minor change is the switch of positions of Diniyar Bilyaletdinov and Denis Glushakov. The Lokomotiv captain started in his favorite position of a left half back. Just like the game against Rostov, Lokomotiv scored both of their goals in the last minutes of each half, showing throughout the game a strong charachter and excellent physical readiness. In the first half CSKA controlled the ball more, but nothing could be done in front of goal. Charles and Dujmovic broke almost every attack down. The Lokomotiv players instead tried to take shots on goal from any comfortable position posible. Most of the shots were off target. In the last minutes of the first half Yanbaev made a cross from the left wing, Glushakov made a headed flick off to Bilyaletdinov who hit the ball into the cross bar and into the goal. 1:0. The second half was a serious test of the defensive line for Lokomotiv. CSKA brought on Mark Gonzalez and Alan Dzagoev, who seriousy improved the attacking potential of the team. This brought its dividends, when Dzagoev smashed the ball into the top left hand corner after a cross from the left wing. Gonzalez's activeness on the left wing made Yuriy Semin ask Oleg Kuzmin to switch places with Renat Yanbaev, who is not slower that the speedy chilian. This brought an end to the dangerous attacks of CSKA in the game and it was Lokomotivs turn to create something up front. Most of the moments happened towards the end of the game and from the right wing, where Alan Gatagov, who came on for Denis Glushakov, partnered well with Dmitriy Sychev. After another serious mistake by CSKA in defence, Sychev came out one on one with Akinfeev. The shot was made and the ball flew in between Akinfeevs legs and started to roll towards the far post. Ignashevic tried to stop the ball from going in, but was too late. Lokomotiv won 2:1 in the closing minute of the game. A fantastic win, the third in a row for Yuriy Semin and his team!
